Following our sessions I felt much stronger. Work was still challenging but not overwhelming. I became a really valued member of the team. A number of things outside of work all seemed to come together. I expanded on what I had learned from you by experiencing and enjoying yoga in its holistic sense. I felt more physically and mentally present. I stopped drinking too. Not putting pressure on myself to quit but just to see how it felt for a while. That was a year and a half ago. I’ve never felt the need to start again and I feel healthier and more stable because of it.

I’m now living in NZ. I’m conscious of my habit of becoming overly involved (and defined) by work so I actively try to get a better balance. I’m building a great social life, dating and I’m active outdoors every weekend.

So, I want to say thank you. I am no longer the scared and unhappy person who walked into your office. You have equipped me with the skills to stop, breath and make positive decisions about my life. It’s taken me from a very small life to the other side of the world via some incredible places and people.

I was thinking about you recently when I realised I have now been back at work a whole year! Thank you for all your help when I was feeling so low and lost. You really helped me get things back into perspective. I particularly appreciated your non-judgemental approach and insights as well as your challenge. I found the whole Cognitive Behavioural Therapy approach fascinating and tremendously valuable and the EMDR was an absolute revelation. I cannot believe how difficult it was and yet how deep it went. I am so much happier in myself and accepting of myself, which inevitably drives a virtuous circle. I am making feelings based judgements where I can and not analysing to the nth degree. I am even finding time to enjoy the view as I travel along. In short, life is great!

Much of this success stems from our sessions. Thank you once again for all your efforts and what you gave me predominantly space, positive challenge and a safe haven. You were an excellent example to me that people can be trusted and want to help and of the benefits of opening up.

I hope we meet again, although preferably in different circumstances.

I sought help from Mike during a particularly dark period of my life when work related stress had become all encompassing. He provided invaluable assistance to me, expertly and sensitively guiding me through a combination of therapies – Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR). Despite being slightly sceptical of how such therapies could assist me, assist me they absolutely did and in a remarkably short period of time I felt so much better about myself and felt enabled to tackle issues which, before seeing Mike, seemed insurmountable. I just couldn’t rate Mike’s skills higher and am just so thankful I went to see him when I did. I would recommend him to anyone (and I do).
