Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Counsellor and Trauma Specialist

Where are your consulting rooms?

My consulting rooms are in Stirling at 5 Viewfield Place, FK8 1NQ and I currently work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday from 9am to 8pm. If you prefer an appointment out with these times then this may be negotiable.

What can I expect in the first session?

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and explore what you want from therapy. It is also a chance for you to ask questions.

The initial session is a mutual assessment and you don’t commit to further sessions by making this initial appointment.

At the end of your assessment I will give you feedback as to my understanding of your problems and what treatment approach I think will help you most. We can then chat about whether that matches your therapy goals and from there we can agree a suitable time for you to come back and begin your work with me.

How many sessions will I need?

There are no fixed numbers of sessions but I recommend we review your progress at the end of each session to agree continuance or otherwise. I also respectfully ask that you give at least one session notice of your desire to end Therapy.

Should you fail to attend an appointment or provide less than 48 hours’ notice of cancellation, the full session rate will be payable unless another appointment in the same week can be mutually agreed.

Any necessary contact with me between sessions, or to cancel or alter an appointment, can be made by telephoning me on 01786 241701 or by e-mail to

I will not under any circumstances, give your home address or telephone number to any other parties unless authorized by you to do so.

Is my contact with you going to be confidential?

The content of therapy sessions is confidential and in accordance with the Codes of Ethics and Practice as determined by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP) and the United Kingdom Council For Psychotherapy (UKCP). Any information collected during your therapy will also be recorded and stored in conjunction with the guidelines issued by these bodies and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. I discuss my work during clinical supervision although your identity is not revealed in that supervision. Confidentiality may be breached if you reveal a serious matter that conveys you are at risk to yourself or someone else.

In all cases, if possible, I will seek your permission to break confidence or at least, advise you that confidence is to be broken.
